Strong Relationships Are Core to a Strong Business
For Anna Pignataro, success is measured not only by income or milestones; it’s reflected in the people she grows with along the way. Raised in Queens, New York, as the youngest of five in a family rooted in strong values, she learned early that life is most fulfilling when it’s shared. Family dinners were part of daily life and meaningful time together was a priority. That early foundation shaped how she approaches business today.

Anna looks at Amway, not only as a pathway to earn a little extra, but as an opportunity to grow something valuable in collaboration with others. The company has a large national network of Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) who support each other through the triumphs and trials of business ownership. Anna has tapped into a segment of that larger network of IBOs as well, seeking mentorship from other business owners like her. Through their support and working personally with the people who buy her products, Anna has first-hand experience of the unique community-based approach to business ownership that Amway provides.
Through her Amway business, Anna has built a community of people who are positive, peaceful and invested genuinely in each other’s development. For her, those relationships weren’t just a side benefit, they were at the core of what made the work meaningful.
It then comes as no surprise that Anna is a firm believer of the well-loved saying at Amway, “You are in business for yourself, not by yourself.”
Anna first encountered Amway through one of her closest relationships, her sister Angela. When Angela, an IBO herself, told Anna about her involvement with the company, Anna was intrigued.
“She shared the details with me and it clicked right away … not easy but simple. I didn’t hesitate to get involved and I quickly learned Amway was a family business I believed in.”
Early on, Anna wasn’t completely comfortable with the idea of selling. Friendly but reserved, she found her footing by starting with selling products she personally uses. As a personal trainer and nutrition coach (in addition to being an IBO), Anna incorporates XS energy drinks and fitness routines into her coaching practice. She also favors rhodiola supplements for focus.
Anna’s background in science (she studied biochemistry in college) drew her to the quality and sourcing behind Amway’s product lines. Learning about Amway’s organic farms and rigorous standards broadened her confidence to offer products to others.
“I know the brand is good and the ingredients are quality,” she said. “So I trust that the products will work for the customers’ needs and they’re worth trying.”
Overall, the idea of starting part-time and gradually building a business offered her a practical path forward, especially in contrast to the rigid structure of some academic and traditional career tracks that Anna saw others take.
Due to the incredible infrastructure Amway provides for business owners, Anna remembers that she “felt there was little risk to trying it out.” Through the company’s complimentary first-year registration, IBOs like Anna are invited to join the Amway business without upfront costs. Anna found a pathway to gain the skills and knowledge she needed to grow professionally.
Anna’s experience with Amway has increased her confidence and what she sees she can achieve, whether she is currently there or on her way.
