A Message from Amway
Amway has entered into a settlement agreement with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the state of Washington.
We fundamentally disagree with the agencies’ characterization of our business. As part of their contract with Amway, all Independent Business Owners (IBOs) must follow robust standards of conduct. Amway rejects the agencies’ assertion that the company’s sales data is not accurate. In fact, Amway and the FTC have agreed to rely on our sales data to continue tracking and substantiating IBO customer sales.
This settlement, like all settlements, required compromise. Resolution positions us to move forward and focus our energy where it belongs: on our customers, IBOs and employees.
We are proud of the Amway business. Today, hundreds of thousands of Amway IBOs across the United States are selling products to their customers, advancing their businesses, and contributing to their local economies. Industry-leading programs like the Amway Promise add to this by providing valuable guidance and support, consumer protections, and offering no-cost registration for first year business owners.
Amway’s success depends on the success of IBOs – and on the confidence people have in us and our products. To lead in the modern economy requires constant attention to the marketplace. Since our founding in 1959, we have embraced and will continue to embrace change. This settlement reaffirms that the Amway business model stands strong and will thrive for generations to come.
Amway has never wavered in our belief in the American entrepreneurial spirit and our commitment to Amway IBOs. That is the resolve that we carry forward, together.
